The use of grinding wheels is dangerous. For your safety, please note the following precautions:

Grinding machines  are some of the most commonly used machines in Mechanical Factories. Grinding machines must also been properly installed and and safety requirements. Grinding machines must also be used correctly and be in the compliance with safe operating procedures. Safety of each employee and must be adhered To.



Installation Precautions


Check the quality of the grinding wheel. Tap the side of the grinding wheel with a rubber mallet or other non-metallic object. The sound should be a clear ring . If the wheel does not give a clear ring, discard it. 

Positioning 

The location of the grinding machine is the first issue to consider. DO NOT install grinding machines in the vicinity of other work equipment, near operators or where there is any foot traffic. Ideally, grinding machines should be installed in isolated rooms. Protective baffle minimum 1 .8m  H. can be securely installed on the front side of the grinder.

Wheel imbalance

Wheel imbalance occurs when a wheels center of gravity changes. This happens for two reasons:

1.      The grinding wheel rotates at high speeds.

2.      Imbalance accelerates the vibration of the main shaft and the wear of the bearing.

 An unbalanced wheel can cause the wheel to rupture and can cause an accident. A large straight requires greater than or equal  200mm  grain density mounted on the chuck.  Test standing balance before and after use.

The matching problem

 Matching problems mainly refers to the installation and matching of the chuck and the grinding wheel. According to the standard requirements, the  diameter of the  grinding wheel  chuck  should not be less than  1/3 of the  diameter of the installed sanding disc and a new grinding Wheel Should BE REPLACED When The Old Grinding Wheel IS Worn to A Diameter larger Within last The Diameter of The Chuck by  10 mm . the In the this Way, there IS A problem of matching The Chuck and The Grinding Wheel. the If THESE Safety requirements are Not Met accidents Can occur.   

To increase safety, a cushion with a diameter larger than  2 mm of the  chuck and a thickness of  1 mm to 2 mm  should be installed between the grinding wheel and the chuck.

Protective Cover

 A protection cover  is the most important protective device of the grinder. If the grinding wheel is damaged the cover the acts of the grinding wheel fragments and ensures the safety of work personnel.

Wheel guards can be round or square, and the maximum opening angle is not allowed to exceed  90°. The material of the shield is steel with a tensile strength of not less than 415 N/mm2

When replacing a new grinding wheel, the protective cover should be installed securely and it should be immovable. The protective cover should not be dismantled or discarded.

Shielding

 The screen is one of the main protective attachments of the grinder. If the opening of the guard above the horizontal plane of the main shaft is greater than or equal to  30mm this device must be installed. Its main function is to block any flying debris during The device is installed at the opening of the protective cover. The width should be larger than the width of the wheel guard and should be firm fixed to the protective cover. The grinding wheel and the baffle should be less than  6mm .

The Bracket problem

The adjustable between brackets must be provided for grinders with a specified grinding wheel diameter of  150 mm  or more. The distance between the wheel and the carrier should be a minimum of  1/2mm and should not exceed  3mm  .

Grinders use electricity so good grounding protection is necessary. 

Precautions for use

 

Side grinding problem:

In the daily use of the grinder, we often find that some operators use the side of the grinding wheel to grind. This is a serious violation of the safety operation rules. According to the regulations, the grinding wheel with the circumferential surface as the working The radial strength of the grinding wheel is large, and the axial strength is very small. When the operator is too strong, the grinding wheel will break and cause injuries. This behavior should be prohibited during use.

 Positive operation problems:

According to the operating procedure, when grinding, the operator should stand on the side of the grinding wheel and must not operate on the front side of the grinding wheel. This will protect the operator if the grinding wheel flies out and from any flying debris.

Hard to operate the problem:

Using too much force when grinding is very unsafe. Using too much force when grinding can cause the grinding wheel to break or even fly off and cause an injury.

Common operational issues:

Sharing a grinding machine between two or more people at the same time is a serious illegal operation and should be strictly prohibited. When one grinder is not enough in a warehouse another grinder should be added.

Replacement precautions

 

Wear problems:

Each grinding wheel has its own specific wear rate. When the wear reaches an unusable state, it must be replaced.  Do not use an excessively worn disc . This is a very unsafe violation. 

Generally, a grinding wheel should be replaced when the grinding wheel is worn to a diameter  10 mm  larger than the diameter of the chuck.

Quality issues:

Regulations:  "The  grinding wheel should be used within the validity period. The resin and rubber bond grinding wheel must be the tortoise of the rotation test after one year of storage."

Texture problem:

During use, if any cracks are found in the grinding wheel, stop using it immediately and replace it with a new grinding wheel to avoid injuries.

Other Precautions


Machine Location:

Grinding machines should be kept in special grinder rooms. Do not stack flammable and explosive materials near the grinder room or the grinder. No other tools or objects should not be placed near the grinder.

Management issues:

Only qualified individuals should be allowed to operate a grinding machine and they must abide by all safety operation rules. The replacement of the grinding wheel should also be carried out only by a qualified person.

After Use:

In addition, the medium and short wave turbines should be cleaned after every use as a good maintenance practice.
